HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Hi everyone,

In Taiwan, The Ghost Month falls on the seventh month of the lunar calendar. The gate to the Underworld opened during this period, and many wandering spirits would come to the human world. Ghost Month in Taiwan is not as warm as Halloween, but full of horror and fear. We were taught that Ghost Moon should not go to the beach or river to play, and not to wander outside at night...etc. But there will be a big sacrificial event in the middle of this month, which we call "Zhongyuan Pudu". Zhongyuan Festival falls on the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month. People will prepare offerings to pay respects to their ancestors, deities, and wandering spirits on this day. 

We don’t make decorations or send cards during Ghost Month, so I rarely create Halloween-related works. But I like this theme very much,  so I still create one or two Halloween works every year. This is my first card work this year, I hope you like it.

I began by stamping the images from Tiny Frights and colored the images with Copic Markers. For the background, I used Ranger Distress Mica stain on watercolor paper. When the panel was almost dry, I used an embossing folder to emboss it and then splatted it with black acrylic paint. I really like the shimmery background. I also used Tim Holtz Sizzix OTIS Colorize Thinlits Dies, die cut, and assemble all the pieces.

Hi everyone, I was invited by lovely Lols to guest this March and share four projects throughout the month linked to their Monday Challenges. It's so honored to be a Spotlight Guest Designer at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week the challenge theme is :

Bright and Cheerful

Since it is the first Monday of a new month, the team is featuring products by a specific designer/company, and this week it is Paper Artsy. You don't have to use their products to join, but it is always fun if you do. I've created a card this week. Hope you like it.

I made this card using the PaperArtsy JOFY 62, JM 62, JOFY 59, and JOFY96 Rubber Stamp Sets. I used bright Copic markers for coloring, and  Distress Spray Stain for the background. I hope you like it.
